Start your own business before you expire.

Updated: Nov 7, 2019

You could start out your career by seeking employment so as to raise capital for your start-up, raise funds to expand your start-up or even gain meaningful experience to run your start-up successful.

Why People Today Choose to be in Business?

The common reason why people get into business is because they seek financial independence and want to make money so as to raise their standards of living and societal status but let me point out some of the reasons why I always encourage everyone to have their very own start-ups and stay in business.

· Government policies

A majority of the people are forced to live on very low incomes and face very high tax rates.

Governments are broke because public officials are involved in corruption. Governments are faced with the high foreign debts that they have to pay back. As a result government cannot take care of its citizenry. Government cannot afford to even provide proper health services to its citizenry. It is time you started planning on taking care of yourself.

To grow and expand their economies, governments are continuously focused on growing the SME (small and medium enterprises) sector. Kenya in a World Bank survey report of 2018 on the ease of doing business moved up 19 places from position 80 to position 61 out of 160 countries ranked. This was attributed to many measures taken by the government to protect and strengthen the SME sector. These factors include strengthening access to credit and easing the process of paying taxes by merging all permits into one unified business permit. Other measures being undertaken include ease of registration of property, ease of transfer of property, ease of broader crossing and access to electricity.

Government public–private sector partnerships also work to grow private businesses. Governments want to partner with private businesses to start projects and provide services required by the citizens. Such policies and other government policies such as the implementation of the sustainable development goals, World Bank policies and IMF policies targeting business and economic growth in the country also help boost business growth in the country.

Governments will always offer incentives to encourage the growth of businesses including tax benefits.
