It is unfortunate that most people leave this world without having identified their passion. This is a loss not just to themselves but also to their families, communities and countries. Their valuable contributions in their fields and professions are missed. With passion comes riches and wealth. Take a look at how much successful international athletes, players, musicians, business personalities and other international personalities in various fields earn. It is a lot and it makes you want to be them.
What next after identifying your passion? You need to exploit your passion fully and put your passion to good and productive use. Start now so that you can start perfecting your skills before someone better comes along, better technology comes along that will force you to retrain or someone else thinks of and implements a similar business idea.
You may achieve better results by combining various talents to create something new, innovative and valuable.
Continue and never allow yourself to stop finding your passion if you have not found it.

Here are a few points you need to keep in mind for you to profit from your passion.
· Passion versus reality
It is important to follow your passion when starting your very own first business. It is also important to study the market to see if there is a market and demand for your product and skills. Take time to carry out your market research and seek feedback from friends and potential customers.
Ask yourself who can benefit from your passion and can you actually make a living from your passion and how would you do that? For example, teaching a drawing art class may not be as profitable as designing website advertisements.
Ensure that you adequately understand what you want to deliver into the market, your business plan, goals and objectives. Understand well the business processes, marketing strategies, accounting and operational procedures. You are solely responsible for the success of all your business functions.
Based on your passion have set business goals, objectives, a time plan and your target audience.
· Build a brand around your passion
Ask yourself what is new about whatever you are bringing into the market. What new product, service, concept or skills are you bringing into the market? How are you making life better for your customers? What contribution are you making in your industry? What is special about you or your product as compare to what is already available in the market? Who are you and how can you help or serve those around you?
Build a special brand identity and brand message, different from that of your market competitors. This is also important even when building an online presence.
Build your business around your passion and build your passion and business around a specific market niche and skills.
If you can do one thing well, what else can you learn and add to your skill set and product lines? If you can repair a manual gear box, can you learn how to repair an automatic gear box? Is there a business opportunity for an automatic gear box repair business? What gap are you filing in the market? Can you produce something better than what is already available in the market? What can you copy and improve on? Is it fun doing it? Are you getting positive responses, feedback and results?
Always dream big but be ready to put in the time and effort required to succeed. Have the passion and patience to reach your goal.
· When in pursuit of your passion, do not limit yourself in anyway
You are solely responsible for the success of ever function in your business. You may not be knowledgeable or good at all of them but you will be forced to get out of your comfort zone anyway.
Find innovative ways to improve on your weaknesses and turn them into strengths for the sake of the success of your business. You may take short courses or buy and read a guide book. You may also choose to get online and find a mentor to guide you, join an online course or watch a video that will help you.
· Always remember that passion is fun
Do not allow yourself to get back to the point where work was never fun. Remember always that following your passion should be fun.
You need to believe that you can earn a living doing exactly what it is you love.
Surround yourself with family, friends and like-minded-people that share the same passion as you or are inspired about their work.
Here you may choose to join a professional body of like-minded-people.
Build a company that reflects how you feel and your perspective on life. You can achieve this by setting out policies that reflect your passion, hiring people that are equally passionate and building a brand that reflects your passion.
· Build on your skills
Yes you can repair a manual gear box, but can you also learn how to repair an automatic gear box? Always keep an open mind in your line of business and be ready to learn new and useful skills. Do not wait till you are ready to start your business inorder to learn new skills. You may learn new skills before starting your business or while continuing to run your business.
Business processes, business models and technology are ever changing. This is another reason why you need to keep learning and never stop learning. Once you stop learning you stop being relevant since the market will always want to keep up with new, more effective and more efficient technology.
Know how long it will take you to learn a new skill and find time to pursue your goal.
Get feedback from friends, colleagues and customers on what is new.
You can choose to be an apprentice or volunteer so as to gain more skills in your field.
Always build on your strengths. This could be relevant training acquired, your expertise and experience, your leadership skills, team building skills or your natural born talents.
· Overcome your fears to reach your full potential
It is natural to fear what you do not understand, have little or no experience on or you are not familiar with. Do not let your fears hinder your progress or prevent you from pursuing your passion.
Always believe in yourself, your talents and your potential. Spend your free time doing what you love and improving on your skills and talents.
Find ways you can overcome your obstacles. There are many ways to profit from your passion. If one does not work well for you or meet your goals, you may also find alternative ideas, products and ways to profit from your passion. You may retrain yourself or hire a new staff to get skills you require in your business. You may collect customer feedback to know what products the market requires or how you can improve on your existing product lines.
See what skills you have and what it is you love about your passion. A local community leader will love his/her job either because he/she loves teaching people or because he/she loves infrastructure development.
Listen to the voice that tells you that you can earn a living following your passion. This way you can remain positive and focused and you will succeed. Be committed to your happiness, let go of the past failures and only visualize your success.
To keep a positive mindset means surrounding yourself with positivity, supportive people and positive people to support your goals.
· Have a plan to invest in your passion
Find ways to access affordable capital to start your business and finance its growth plan.
Prepare a financial plan that includes your marketing plan, your start up expenses, personal expenses and business goals.
You may love doing a number of things or be talented in a number of areas. Find ways to combine all these talents into one career or business. You love cooking and you are also a good comedian, you may choose to open a standup comedy restaurant.
Find a mentor to guide you through your start up till a time when your business finally does break even and you have acquired the important skills and experience to run a successful business. This will help you avoid making costly mistakes.
Understand how family, friends and customers value your skills and your passion.
Stay focused on your goals, vision and objectives at all time.
